The Detroit Revolution continues! This is the latest in a series of stories from the last few months in which armed Detroit residents have fought back against criminals.
In this case, two armed men attempted to break into a Detroit area home, but they were stopped when they encountered an armed home owner.
According to My Fox Detroit,
Sgt. Michael Woody says two people tried to break into the home on the 15000 block of Glastonbury early Thursday through a window and a third was sitting in the vehicle.
Woody says the homeowner shot at the suspects, who returned fire. He says the person in the vehicle was hit and the two other suspects fled on foot.
FOX 2′s Roop Raj reports a woman in the home that was crashed into was injured. Police didn’t immediately say whether the gunfire or crash killed the suspect.
This is the seventh documented defensive gun use in Detroit in 2014. These incidents come on the heels of Detroit Police Chief James Craig urging Detroit residents to protect themselves,
“If you are confronted with an immediate threat to your safety, you’re not going to have time to dial 911,” Craig said. “It becomes an issue of, the threat is here, I have to respond to the threat.”
