No, you still can’t go down to your local Wal-Mart and get a brick for $25 whenever you feel like, but it does look like .22LR availability and pricing is moving in the right direction.
Just one month ago, all of the .22LR ammo available on AmmoSeek.com was at least $0.13/ round. Earlier today when I checked, it could be had for as low as $0.08/round (see image below).
Are these good prices? Nope, I’m still not buying at price, but it is a clear indicator that the demand and price are settling down to something more reasonable.
At the same time last month when I checked LuckyGunner.com, they only had 1-3 types of .22LR available. Today they have 20 different varieties in stock, although they are charging $0.18 – $0.40+ per round (ouch!).
Next week I plan to go mobile and hit up about a dozen stores near me to see what the local .22LR market looks like.
The last time I attempted that I came home empty handed. Although I did manage to grab a couple of 50 round boxes of Blazer from a local hardware store for a decent price one weekend when I was out turkey hunting.
Hit up the comments below and let us know how .22LR stock has been in your neck of the woods the last couple of weeks. Can you find it? If so, what are you paying per round?
